Important notice — how this works, and what to expect

This website does not collect, store, or track any information about visitors. It has no forms that save data, no accounts, no cookies, and no analytics. The only way information reaches us is if you choose to email us a resume or inquiry using the contact links on the site.

When you email us a resume, it is received and held on our own server, where we review it. If we decide to pursue an opportunity with you, we will contact you. If not, your resume remains on our server for future reference unless you ask us to delete it.

Once you send us a resume, you have no expectation of privacy in it — with one exception: we will not actively share your resume, or the fact of your inquiry, with any prospective employer or other third party without your written consent. That single commitment is the full extent of the confidentiality we undertake.

We do not guarantee the security of information you send us or that we store. Email is not secure, and no server is immune from intrusion. If a hacker breaks into our server, or information is intercepted, breached, or accessed without authorization, that is a risk you accept by sending us your resume. We disclaim any guarantee of protection against hackers, breaches, server intrusions, interception, or other unauthorized access.

This Privacy Policy explains how Platinum Legal Search Group, LLC ("Platinum," "we," "us," or "our") handles information in connection with our legal recruiting and search services and this website. In short: the website itself collects nothing, and the only information we receive is what you choose to email us. Please read it carefully. By using this website or sending information to us, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Policy and agree to its terms.

1. Scope & acceptance

This Policy applies to information you send us by email and information handled in the course of providing recruiting and placement services to candidates and to law firms, companies, and other employers ("clients"). It does not apply to the privacy practices of any third party, including any prospective employer, client, email or hosting provider, or website we do not operate. Your use of the website and your submission of information constitute acceptance of this Policy.

2. What we receive (and what we don't)

The website itself collects no information. It does not use forms that store data, accounts, logins, cookies, tracking pixels, or analytics, and it does not automatically log or collect visitor data such as IP addresses or browsing activity for our use. Simply visiting the site leaves us with nothing about you.

The only information we receive is what you voluntarily send us by email, which may include:

  • Your name, email address, and any contact details you include;
  • Professional information in a resume, CV, biography, deal sheet, or similar submission — such as employment history, education, bar admissions, practice area, portable business or book information, compensation, and references; and
  • The content of your email correspondence with us.

For clients (law firms and employers), we may also receive information about open positions and hiring needs that you send us.

3. How we use what you send us

We use the information you email to us to:

  • Review your resume and consider you for opportunities;
  • Contact you if we decide to pursue an opportunity with you;
  • Present you to a prospective employer — but only with your written consent;
  • Keep your resume on file for future reference unless you ask us to delete it; and
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.

4. Resumes & candidate confidentiality

We understand that discretion is essential to a lateral search. When you email us a resume or inquiry:

  • We treat your submission as confidential in one specific respect: we will not disclose your resume, your identity as a candidate, or the fact that you have contacted us to any prospective employer or other third party without your prior written consent.
  • This is the full extent of the confidentiality we undertake. Aside from this commitment, you have no expectation of privacy in what you send us. Your resume is received and held on our server, where we review and retain it in the ordinary course of our business as described in this Policy.
  • If we decide to pursue an opportunity with you, we will contact you. If we do not, your resume remains on our server for future reference unless you ask us to delete it.
  • Once you consent to our presenting you to a particular employer, that employer's own handling of your information is governed by its policies and practices, not ours.

5. When we share information

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for advertising of any kind. We share your resume or inquiry only as follows:

  • With a prospective employer — only with your written consent. We present you to a client only after you have authorized us to do so in writing;
  • For legal reasons — where required by law, subpoena, court order, or governmental request, or to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims; and
  • In connection with a business transfer — such as a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets involving Platinum.

Once you consent to our presenting you to a particular employer, that employer's own handling of your information is governed by its policies, not ours.

6. Security & no guarantee

We take reasonable, commercially available measures intended to protect information in our possession. However, we do not and cannot guarantee the security of any information, and you submit information to us at your own risk.

  • Email is not a secure or encrypted method of communication and may be intercepted, lost, or accessed by others in transit.
  • No website, server, database, cloud service, or method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure.
  • We expressly disclaim any warranty or guarantee of protection against hackers, cyberattacks, phishing, malware, ransomware, server or network intrusions, data breaches, interception, unauthorized access, or any other loss, misuse, or compromise of information, including events caused by third parties or beyond our reasonable control.
  • To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any unauthorized access to or use of information, or for any harm resulting from your transmission of information to us.

By emailing us your resume or other information, you knowingly accept these risks — including the risk that a hacker could break into our server and access, take, or expose information stored there. If you consider information especially sensitive, do not send it to us.

7. Data retention

We retain candidate and client information for as long as needed to provide our services, maintain our professional network, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Because recruiting relationships are long-term, we may retain a resume and related information indefinitely unless you ask us to delete it, subject to any legal retention requirements.

8. Your choices & rights

Subject to applicable law, you may ask us to access, correct, update, delete, or receive a copy of the personal information we hold about you. To exercise any right, contact us using the details in Section 15. We will verify your request (and the authority of any authorized agent) before responding, will respond within the time required by applicable law, and will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. The sections below describe rights that may apply depending on where you live.

General statement — no sale or sharing

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising or targeted advertising. We have not done so in the preceding twelve (12) months. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes other than providing our services and other purposes permitted by law.

California residents (CCPA, as amended by the CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to: (i) know the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected, the sources, the business or commercial purposes for collecting it, and the categories of third parties to whom we disclose it; (ii) request deletion of your personal information; (iii) request correction of inaccurate personal information; (iv) opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (note: we do not sell or share personal information); (v) limit the use of sensitive personal information (we do not use it for purposes requiring a limitation right); and (vi) be free from discrimination for exercising your rights.

Categories of personal information we may receive under the CCPA are limited to what you email us, and include identifiers (such as name, email, and phone number), professional or employment-related information (such as resume and compensation data), and education information. We receive this information directly from you when you send it, not from tracking your use of the website, and we use it for the business purposes described in this Policy. You may submit a request through the contact details in Section 15. You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf, subject to verification.

Other U.S. state privacy rights

Residents of certain other states — including Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, and a growing number of others with comprehensive consumer-privacy laws — may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a portable copy of their personal data, and to opt out of targeted advertising, the sale of personal data, or certain profiling. We do not sell personal data or use it for targeted advertising or such profiling. Where a law provides an appeal mechanism, you may appeal a denial of your request by contacting us again using the details in Section 15. We honor rights to the extent they apply to you under your state's law.

United Kingdom, European Economic Area & other GDPR-covered individuals

If you are located in the United Kingdom, the European Economic Area, or another jurisdiction governed by the EU General Data Protection Regulation or the UK GDPR, the following applies. Platinum acts as a data controller for the personal data described in this Policy.

Lawful bases. We process personal data on one or more of the following lawful bases: your consent (for example, joining our mailing list); the performance of, or steps taken at your request prior to entering into, a contract or engagement; our legitimate interests in operating and marketing our recruiting business and matching candidates to opportunities (balanced against your rights); and compliance with legal obligations.

Your rights. Subject to the applicable regulation, you have the right to access your personal data; to rectification; to erasure ("right to be forgotten"); to restrict or object to processing (including profiling and direct marketing); to data portability; and, where processing is based on consent, to withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior processing. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), or in the EEA, your local data protection authority.

International transfers. Because we operate in the United States, your personal data will be transferred to and processed in the United States. Where required, such transfers are made subject to appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement / Addendum.

Retention. We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Policy or as required by law, after which it is deleted or anonymized. See Section 7.

9. Mailing list

If you would like to receive periodic market updates and insights, the "subscribe" feature on our website simply opens a pre-addressed email in your own email program so you can send us your request — the website does not store your details or build a list itself. When we receive your email, we add you to our mailing list, keep that information confidential, and never sell, rent, or share it. You may unsubscribe at any time by contacting us or using the unsubscribe option in our emails. Messages relating to an active search or your inquiry are not marketing and may continue after you unsubscribe from marketing. We honor applicable anti-spam requirements, including the CAN-SPAM Act.

10. No cookies, tracking, or analytics

This website does not use cookies, tracking pixels, web beacons, analytics, or any similar technologies, and it does not build profiles of visitors or track you across other sites. Because the site collects nothing, there is nothing to opt out of. If this ever changes, we will update this Policy and provide any notice or choices required by law before doing so.

11. Third-party links & services

Our website may link to third-party websites and services that we do not control, including prospective employers and mailing-list or hosting providers. We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or security of any third party. This Policy applies only to Platinum Legal Search Group, LLC.

12. Users outside the United States

We are based in the United States and operate under United States law. If you access the website or submit information from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, where data-protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction, and you consent to that transfer and processing.

13. No use by minors

This website and our services are intended for professionals and are not directed to individuals under the age of eighteen. We do not knowingly collect information from minors.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be posted on this page, and your continued use of the website after any change constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
