Attorney – Litigation – General Litigation (1+)

Overview

Seeking Litigation Attorney to Review Summons & Complaints. Draft answers and initial discovery requests. Appear in court and adhere to New York State’s rules and procedures. Meet and interact with clients via telephone or in person. Draft legal documents and briefs to be filed in court. Advocate on behalf of clients in court, in motion practice and at trial. Conduct legal research. Engage in factual evidence gathering. Take depositions of witnesses, both plaintiff and defense. Navigate cases from initial intake through settlement or disposition. Provide assistance at trial, and manage a caseload. Interact with the senior associates and partners of the firm. Use the law library and travel to various court locations in Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn and Long Island. Travel to client offices when required. Requirements: Juris Doctor + 1-year experience + admitted to State Bar in NY; Experience in Criminal Law proceedings; Experience with pre-trial hearings; Experience in Jury trials; Experience with negligence claims, state and labor law, medical malpractice; Experience with depositions
