Seeking: an associate for New York office with 3 to 6 years of experience to join Privacy and Data Security Group. Responsibilities Should have experience with data privacy issues and data breach response and specific knowledge of the California laws and pending legislation. Ideal candidate will also have a technology transactions background. Qualifications Successful top-tier law school graduate with a minimum of 3 years of hands-on privacy and data security experience. Transactional experience preferred. Experience with law enforcement and international experience also preferred. The candidate must have a demonstrated background in privacy, data security and technology law and practice, including a strong substantive knowledge of US privacy law and self-regulatory schemes (state laws, financial services, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, DMA, NIST, etc.), including emerging trends in the various states, and a working knowledge of international data protection laws. Excellent facility with online, mobile and other emerging technologies and the effect on privacy and security issues is required. Essential skills include exceptional written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, good judgment, a team-oriented attitude, solid interpersonal and analytical skills, and the ability to handle multiple projects across multiple clients at one time
